1943 – at Allied Victory Parade in Cairo Our oldest cadet company was invited to participate in the Allied Victory Parade in Cairo (soon after Rommel defeat). In spare time, we were allowed to roam the streets of Cairo.

1943 – Cairo Museum At the time of our visit to Cairo and the Allied Victory Parade, Cairo Museum has re-opened. It had been evacuated in anticipation of German victory in Egypt. I photographed the mask of Tutenkhamen with my Welta Freital camera.

1945 – Cadets and SMO girls in El Kantara Because the rail tracks were sabotaged in El Arish, we were to be sent back to Palestine by a troop ship from Port Said to Haifa. While waiting in El Kantara for the new transport arrangements we enjoyed the company of SMO girls from Nazareth.
